Deep Tissue Massage
Release the tension that's been there for a while
Slower, firmer pressure into long-held tightness — customized throughout, never painful. Bilingual English & Spanish.
What deep tissue massage is
Deep tissue massage works into the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue, where chronic tension tends to build up. The strokes are slower than in a relaxation massage, and the pressure is firmer — but "firmer" doesn't mean "painful." It means I'm working with your body at a pace it can actually respond to.
If you carry tension in your shoulders, upper back, neck or hips that just won't budge, this is usually the type of session that helps. It's also a good fit if you do physical work, train hard, or sit at a desk for most of the day.
What to expect
- We start with a conversation about how your body feels and where the tightness lives.
- The work is slower than you might expect — that's intentional. Slower strokes let the tissue actually release instead of just being pushed around.
- I check in throughout and adjust the pressure to what your body can handle at any given moment.
- You may feel a deep ache during the session, or notice soreness for a day or two after. Both are normal — and both should be manageable.
Is it painful?
It can feel intense in a good way, but it should never hurt. If something is too much, tell me — I'd rather adjust the pressure than have you white-knuckle through it. A session that's comfortable enough to stay with is always more effective than one you're bracing for.
Who it's for
- Desk workers with chronic shoulder, neck and upper back tension
- Athletes and active people who train regularly
- Anyone carrying a specific knot or tight spot that keeps coming back
- People who've tried relaxation massage and want to go deeper
